Musicians strive to win Grammys. Writers set their sights on the Pulitzer Prize. For chefs, there is no greater honor than an invitation to cook at the James Beard House in New York. This year, many of our chefs have officially earned the opportunity to represent Arizona’s culinary scene in the Big Apple at this notorious dinner.
Regarded as a pioneer in the culinary world and “The Dean of American Cuisine,” James Beard was a famed chef, cookbook author, teacher, and television personality. He entertained friends and taught students in his kitchen until his passing in 1985. To this day, the James Beard name remains synonymous with American food. It’s an incredible honor to be asked to cook at his home.
This June, Sam Fox will bring six of his chefs, sommelier Regan Jasper, and beverage guru Mat Snapp with him to NYC to host a dinner at the James Beard House. The participating restaurants for this year’s dinner include Little Cleo’s Seafood Legend, Culinary Dropout, Flower Child, True Food Kitchen, North Italia, and The Henry.
